Bentley’s carpeting is certified to meet the requirements of the Carpet and Rug Institute’s (CRI) Green Label Plus test protocol. This program measures the total volatile organic compounds (VOC) emissions, as well as individual chemical concentrations. It is designed to help customers identify low emitting products. The CRI program also sets a high standard for indoor air quality (IAQ), ensuring that customers are purchasing the lowest emitting products available. In addition, all of Bentley's products can be reused, reclaimed or recycled, allowing them to contribute towards multiple LEED credits.

Maintenance: Vacuuming/Pile Lifting: Regular vacuuming is the single most important part of a maintenance program. It can be very costly to remove soil once it becomes attached to the carpet fibers. Proper vacuuming, however, can remove about 80% of this soil by removing dry soil before it attaches, making it the most cost effective method. Pile lifting should be added as part of the maintenance program, and will enhance the effectiveness of cleaning.

Spot Cleaning: Promptly addressing spots and spills is the best way to prevent the chance of a permanent stain. Addressing spills quickly will help to minimize the chance of it becoming a stubborn stain. It recommended that all spots and spills be cleaned up in a timely manner in between regularly scheduled cleanings.

Interim Cleaning: If used regularly, interim cleaning can prolong the need for restorative cleaning.

Restorative Cleaning: Hot water extraction is the most effective method to remove soil once it has been trapped in the carpet fibers. This is the only restorative method recommended by Bentley.

“An Environmental Product Declaration, EPD®, is a verified document that reports environmental data of products based on life cycle assessment (LCA) and other relevant information and in accordance with the international standard ISO 14025 (Type III Environmental Declarations).”

- The International EPD System

EPDs serve as a life cycle assessment tool, quantifying the environmental impact of a product or system. They provide information on the environmental impact of a product’s raw material acquisition, energy efficiency, material content, air emissions, soil and water impacts, and waste generation.

Bentley's products are certified at the Cradle to Cradle Silver level. This means that their products have been evaluated based on material health, material reutilization, renewable energy and carbon management, water stewardship, and social fairness.

Their products are also NSF® 140 certified at the Platinum and Gold levels. NSF 140 is the Sustainability Assessment for Carpet Standard. It is the industry-leading standard for sustainability evaluation and certification of carpet products across their entire life cycle.

Bentley products are also certified to meet the requirements of the Carpet and Rug Institute’s (CRI) Green Label Plus test protocol. This independent testing program measures total volatile organic compounds (VOC) emissions as well as individual chemical concentrations. CRI’s Green Label Plus test criteria are designed to help customers to identify low emitting products.
